Captain Karl Stanley's deep diving submarine Idabel, based on the Caribbean island of Roatan, Honduras, is the greatest underwater adventure in the world. Idabel will take you deeper into the unexplored Cayman Trench than most people have ever ventured— illuminating depths down to 2,000 feet (610 meters) below the surface. Through the submarine's large PLEXIGLASS viewing bubble you will see a wide variety of deep sea animal life rarely encountered by humans. Idabel docks at Half Moon Bay in West End, Roatan, in the Bay Islands of Honduras, but Tranquilseas can arrange a trip for you if you wish. Snorkeling in Roatan's crystal clear waters draws tourists from around the world. First-class snorkeling can be enjoyed right off of our private dock at Tranquilseas Eco Lodge. After only a few steps, you will enjoy an incredible coral reef filled with a beautiful variety of marine life in the shallows. Kayaking is available straight off the beach at Tranquilseas Eco Lodge. Explore the crystal blue waters of Cahoon Bight in Sandy Bay, along Roatan’s picturesque north shore. Paddle through the calm waters and explore our peaceful yet exciting shoreline. Kayaks are available for rent at Tranquilseas Eco Lodge.


Boat trips around all of the Bay Islands of Honduras, including Roatan, Utila, Barbereta, and Cayos Cochinos are an incredible way to familiarize yourself with the region. A unique activity offered for something to do away from the water. This 4.5-hour instruction session covers 9 different Indian dishes, drawing on Chef Paul James’ 23 years of professional international culinary experience. This is a must-do while on Roatan!


Tennis courts are available in a beautiful quiet setting; equipment rental is available. Court rental is $25 per hour, available every day between 8am and 6pm. Reservations are required so be sure to notify us as soon as possible to ensure you can use the courts at your desired time.


Roatan is internationally known as a destination for some of the world’s best deep-sea fishing. Also popular for fly fishing, many fishing guides bring visitors to our lagoon for world class flats fishing. Permit, Jacks, Bone Fish, and Barracuda are just some of the species you might encounter while fly fishing. Remember: we are located within the Roatan Marine Park so good practices and catch-and-release are a must. Make sure you bring your camera to take a shot of your prize catch. Your Roatan fishing trip will be personally catered for by Channin Bodden Tours of Roatan and we are more than happy to arrange this to be ready when you arrive on Roatan.


Stand-up paddle boards are available on-site, so you can practice this relaxing water sport straight off of the beach at Tranquilseas Eco Lodge, The calm turquoise waters in front of our resort allow for easy and enjoyable paddle boarding. You may also be able to request a stand-up paddle yoga class from one of our yoga instructors.


Blue Harbor Tropical Arboretum, Roatan’s working ”Tropical Eden” covers over 160 eco-friendly acres. Here you will find uniquely spectacular tropical display gardens, seasonal fruit and nut orchards, the only tropical botanical “Conservatory” with a 12-foot waterfall in the entire Caribbean, and over 70,000 heads of lettuce and herbs in a working hydroponic produce and herb farm.
